(Sunman, Ind.) - An arrest has been made two-and-a-half months after a bar brawl in Sunman that left two people with serious injuries. Indiana State Police say the victims were found suffering from injuries outside Whipple’s Bar on West Washington Street in Sunman in the early morning hours of June 11. Shane M. Brown, of Lawrenceburg, and Andrew A. Hammann, of Sunman, each had head injuries. Brown’s injuries were so bad that he was hospitalized at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Hammann initially declined medical treatment before later being treated. No weapons were believed to be used in the bar fight. After a lengthy investigation, Indiana State Police submitted the case to the Ripley County Prosecutor’s Office. Charges were filed Wednesday against 29-year-old Aurora resident Andrew E. Ballard. Ballard was arrested without incident Wednesday afternoon at his place of employment in Aurora. He is charged with Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury. Ballard is held at the Ripley County Jail until he makes his initial appearance in court. State police say more arrests are possible. Investigators said in June that there were two possible suspects in the beatings. RELATED STORIES: Do You Know Who Was In A Street Fight In Sunman?
