UPDATE: All Lanes Reopen on I-71 Southbound in Carroll County

UPDATE: All lanes have reopened on I-71 southbound at the 52 mile marker following a crash, per Carroll County dispatch. 

(Carroll County, Ky.) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of a traffic alert on Interstate 71 southbound in Carroll County.

A crash has blocked all lanes on I-71 southbound at the 52 mile marker. This is located near the Carroll and Gallatin county line. The crash involved a commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle. Crews are working to clear the crash and a fuel spill. The closure is expected to be in place for the next four hours.

DETOUR: I-71 southbound to KY 1039 north, to U.S. 42 west, to KY 227 in Carrollton, and then back on to I-71 southbound.

Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes to avoid delays.
