(Boone County, Ky.) - Law enforcement has blocked the ramps to I-71 southbound on I-75 in both directions.
The ramp closure comes after a crash that took place on I-71 southbound, just south of 72-mile marker near KY 14 (Verona-Mudlick Road).
A single lane was open briefly in the crash area to allow motorists in the queue to get by. The southbound lanes will remain blocked for several more hours as crews clean up following the crash.
The southbound lanes are expected to be blocked for three hours. Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route, and to avoid the area, if possible.
KYTC will provide updates via social media on a timeline for when the southbound lanes will reopen once that information is provided.
