(Batesville, Ind.) – Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines will visit Batesville on Monday, June 17.
The 12-time All-American and two-time Olympic trial qualifier will be speaking at an event titled “A Conversation with Riley Gaines.”
The event is organized by Batesville residents Leon Smith and Terrance Arney.
“This is an opportunity for us to have a real conversation with Riley about how she went from being a little girl from Tennessee to the person she is now. It is rare to have the chance to bring someone as dynamic as her to introduce to our community and show not just young people, but all people, more importantly girls and young women, how to be passionate about what you believe, fight for what they believe to right, and never giving up until the mission is complete,” Leon Smith said.
This is a public event with a pre-registration required by May 31.
The event will be held at the RomWeber Party Place.
