Alcohol Suspected In Fatal Crash

(Batesville, Ind.) - A Batesville man died in a crash on State Road 350 in Ripley County late Sunday night.

Indiana State Police say Jesse Norman, 38, was driving a 2003 Ford passenger car eastbound on State Road 350 approaching State Road 129 at around 11:00 p.m. when his car went off the highway, then struck a concrete culvert and overturned, according to Indiana State Police.

Norman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ripley County Coroner’s Office.

Troopers say that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the wreck, but toxicology tests are pending.

The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, Ripley County Fire and EMS, and Ripley County Coroner’s Office.
