(Ripley County, Ind.) - It was a busy Sunday for emergency crews in Ripley County.

Sunday afternoon, a semi and a pickup truck collided head-on on U.S. 50 near the Y intersection with U.S. 421 in Versailles.

The driver of the pickup had to be extricated by firefighters, however, nobody was seriously injured.

Then Sunday evening, the Friendship Fire Department responded to a combine fire in a field of the 9500 block of State Road 129.

Firefighters only needed about 300 gallons of water to put out the smoldering fire. The combine suffered minimal damage.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a bearing failure.
