2012 Music on the River Lineup Announced

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A Beatles tribute band, lots of 1960s and ‘70s music, and local acts make up the schedule for this summer’s Music on the River.

Lawrenceburg Main Street organizes the free concert series each summer to help draw people downtown.

“We invite you to come down early and walk the levee, stop in the local restaurants, enjoy downtown Lawrenceburg and then come to the concert,” said Lawrenceburg Main Street Director Pat Krider.

The series begins Thursday, June 7 with Hot Wax and continues each Thursday night until the final concert September 6. The music begins at 7:00 p.m. each night.

The City of Lawrenceburg is building a new event center at Music on the River’s former venue at the corner of Walnut and High Streets. Because of that project, the concerts this summer will be at the Riverfront Pavilion located on the third floor of the parking garage next to Partners in Health.

Krider is excited about the new venue.

“We think it’s going to be a nice change. You’ll really be able to see the river. It’s so convenient. People can park in the parking garage and there’s still parking on the downtown streets,” she said.

Just as they have been in previous years, concert goers are urged to bring their lawn chairs.
