200-Foot Lighted Tunnel Coming To Batesville For The Holidays

Batesville Sky will illuminate the downtown Batesville area starting December 1.

(Batesville, Ind.) – The Batesville Area Art Council announced Thursday a new visual display will be coming to downtown Batesville this holiday season.

A 200-foot lighted tunnel decorated with over 100 lit snowflakes, entitled "Batesville Sky – Winter Wonder" will be located on the former Umbrella Sky structure in the Village Green parking area.

Batesville Sky will begin on Wednesday, December 1 and will continue until the end of February.

BAAC Executive Director Sarah Heppner remarked, “due to the great enthusiasm for the Umbrella Sky Art Installation, we wanted to find a way to repurpose the structure and brighten spirits for the winter months. We have enlisted the help of Winterland, Inc. out of Marion, Indiana, who has been designing and installing custom commercial holiday décor in venues in Indiana and beyond for over 30 years. We invite community members to come downtown on December 1st at 5:30 pm to watch as we flip the switch to brighten Batesville.”

Once the winter installation is complete, a new installation is expected in the spring.
