The Marines' quick thinking, exceptional bravery, and selfless actions saved lives and prevented serious bodily harm of innocent bystanders during the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival shooting

(Las Vegas, NV)  --  Two Marines are receiving the U.S. Navy's highest non-combat award for their sacrifice following the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in Las Vegas.

Sergeant Austin Cox and Sergeant Michael Vura are credited for helping to rescue several injured concertgoers.

The two made makeshift gurneys and administered first aid.

They received the "Navy & Marine Corps Medal" for their selfless actions in October 2017.

Fifty-eight-people were killed and several hundred others were hurt when a lone gunman fired shots at people attending a Jason Aldean concert.
