Versailles Native Benkie Marries "Goodfella" Paul Sorvino In NYC

Former Versailles resident and town council member Dee Dee Benkie and "Goodfellas" actor Paul Sorvino got married on December 27, according to Page Six. (New York, N.Y.) - A Ripley County native who appears often on Fox News has gotten hitched to a good guy. Make that a Goodfella. Dee Dee Benkie is now Dee Dee Sorvino after marrying 75-year-old “Goodfellas” actor Paul Sorvino, The New York Post’s Page Six reports. The two tied the knot on December 27 in New York City during a ceremony that lasted all of 30 seconds. Page Six says Dee Dee was Sorvino’s longtime girlfriend prior to getting married. Raised in Versailles where she was once a town council member, Dee Dee Sorvino has been a frequent face on Fox News talk shows. She met Paul when they both appeared as guests on “Your World with Neil Cavuto.” The GOP activist serves with the Republican National Committee on the Technology Committee and Member Finance Committee. She was previously a special assistant in the George W. Bush White House. Sorvino has many film and television credits. The Italian-American’s best known role was as mob boss Paulie Cicero in the 1990 Martin Scorcese directed “Goodfellas.” He also starred in 1995’s “Nixon” and on past seasons of “Law & Order.” He also performs with the New York City Opera and Metropolitan Opera, according to Page Six. Benkie said she and her now husband took an early honeymoon to Rome. So, when might Dee Dee bring her new Hollywood husband to Ripley County? “Springtime likely!” she tweets.
