U-Haul Offers 30 Days Free Self-Storage To Displaced College Students

With growing concerns surrounding COVID-19, the storage rental company is easing the stress of making unforeseen accommodations.

(Phoenix, Ariz.) - Last Thursday, U-Haul® announced an act of goodwill to college students affected by schedule changes in the U.S. and Canada.

With growing concerns surrounding COVID-19, the storage rental company is easing the stress of making unforeseen accommodations.

President John "JT" Taylor gave word that U-Haul will extend 30 days of free self-storage at U-Haul-owned and -operated facilities to help impacted college students.

“We don’t know how every student is affected. But we know they are affected,” said Taylor. “More and more universities are giving instructions to leave campus and go home. Students and their parents are in need of moving and storage solutions. We have the expertise and network to help, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”

In the past, the 30 days free self-storage offer extends to communities impacted by natural disasters.

This free month will apply to new customers with college IDs and is a limited-time offer subject to availability. This is the first time U-Haul has extended the offer company-wide.

With the number of schools evacuating campuses and moving to online instruction due to coronavirus precautions, U-Haul is anticipating an early spring moving rush.

You can reserve a truck or trailer at uhaul.com or call 1-800-GO-UHAUL. U-Haul also accepts third-party pay, which enables family members to fund their loved one’s moving and storage needs.

Click on uhaul.com/storage to find the store nearest you. Contact the store by phone or visit in person to take advantage of the offer.
