The Reds Caravan Returned to The Lawrenceburg Event Center

The caravan featured the likes of 2023 Major League Baseball All Star Alexis Diaz and others.

(Lawrenceburg, IN) – The Reds Caravan made its fourth stop at the Lawrenceburg Event Center. Over 250 reds fans gathered for a question-and-answer session as well as pictures and autographs.

The caravan featured the likes of 2023 Major League Baseball All Star Alexis Diaz, senior vice president & general manager Brad Meador, pitching coach Derek Johnson, former Red Corky Miller, and minor leaguers such as Sammy Stafura, Chase Petty, and Nestor Lorant.

Broadcaster John Sadak walked around passing the microphone off to Reds fans for their questions. One question was regarding honoring Pete Rose this upcoming season. Pete Rose will be honored on May 14th when the Reds take on the White Sox. They will also wear special patches on their jersey this year.

A question from a young fan was what the players’ favorite cheat meal was. Reds' pitcher Alexis Diaz told the crowd that he eats a pint of ice cream after gameday.  Minor League pitcher Nestor Lorant informed the audience how he is allergic to shrimp but continues to eat it because of how much he enjoys it.

Minor League pitcher Chase Petty told the story of when he threw 100 mph for the first time pitching. Former Red Corky Miller explained his responsibilities in the Reds organization. Majority of the questions were for pitching coach Derek Johnson and general manager Brad Meador. They answered many questions such as injuries, plans for the future, base-running, position assignments, and many more.

Michael Anderson is the director of public relations for the Reds. He talked with Eagle Country 99.3 about how great The Lawrenceburg Event Center was for the caravan. He talked about how much he enjoyed the Reds fans of southeast Indiana.

The Reds' caravan has ten more stops in January and then the players are off to spring training.
