By Mike Perleberg (Burlington, Ky.) - Monday marks the 50th anniversary of the deadliest plane crash in the history of Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport. A memorial service held Sunday in Burlington honored the 70 people killed onboard TWA Flight 128. The four-engine Convair 880 jet was arriving at CVG from Los Angeles when its pilots misjudged their approach to the runway and crashed on November 20, 1967. A dozen people – two crew members and 10 passengers – survived the jet liner crash. Among them was a baby who was found in a tree. Now a grown adult, Tracy Jeanne Smith and her rescuer were reunited Sunday at a memorial erected at the crash site off of Idlewild Road. The crash is the 38th worst accident in the United States, and the worst in Kentucky state history.
