By Travis Thayer (Falmouth, Ky.) - Saint Elizabeth Hospital is helping create a new drug treatment center serving northern Kentucky. On Monday, the hospital entered an agreement to donate its $1.6 million property in Falmouth to Transitions, Inc. The transfer is set to occur on May 1. Transition helps individuals to shift from the pain of addiction to the gratitude of recovery through comprehensive support services. Services offered will include individual therapy, psycho-education group, group therapy, case management, AA and NA meetings, mental health therapy, life skills and employment success. “This is a win-win for all involved,” says Garren Colvin, St. Elizabeth Healthcare President and CEO. "We are committed to bringing real solutions to our community to help those with substance use disorders and are thrilled to find a like-minded organization such as Transitions that will continue that mission in Falmouth." Under Transitions, the Falmouth location will operate as a long-term, 36-bed residential treatment program, including detox services. Length of stay will be individualized, but will average between 30 and 60 days. Staffing will be 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
