There will be plenty to see and do.

(Southeast Indiana) - Visitors to Southeast Indiana will find a full schedule of holiday activities kicking off this Thanksgiving weekend, with events planned as follows:

Christmas at Our Local Attractions

Visitors to Aurora can get a taste of “Christmas past” at Hillforest Victorian House Museum, a National Historic Landmark that is all decked out for the season. Then check out Northern Lights at Perfect North Slopes in Lawrenceburg, a large drive- and walk-through holiday light display running throughout the holiday season.

Small Business Saturday

There will also be lots of great activities taking place throughout the day on Saturday, November 29, as both Aurora and Lawrenceburg celebrate “Small Business Saturday,” including merchant open houses, special offers, drawings and more.

Tree lightings

Both Aurora and Lawrenceburg will host their annual Christmas tree lightings on Sunday night, November 30. The City of Lawrenceburg will begin with a reception at the Lawrenceburg Event Center beginning at 5:30pm, followed by a special Mayor’s Reception and the City’s official tree lighting at Civic Park. The City of Aurora’s tree lighting and annual lighted Christmas parade will begin at 6pm on Second and Main Streets in the city’s historic downtown.

Throughout the month of December, the region will offer additional holiday festivities – including ice skating, reindeer farm visits, winter markets, Christmas historic home tours, a model railroad expo, and more.
