The Community Foundation was established in 1997 by a group of local residents to enhance the very essence of Ripley County.
(Ripley Co., Ind.) - On Friday, November 8, from 8 AM - 4 PM the Ripley County Community Foundation will be hosting its 5th Annual Day of Giving.
The foundation has focused on resources in times of natural disasters, acted as an intermediary organization for benefit of local charitable programs, promoted community development, convened stakeholders with decision-makers, and provided the local community with a perpetual source of charitable assets over the last two decades.
This year, a total of $250,000 has been granted back to Ripley County to support the arts, youth programs, education, historic preservation, and scholarships by the Ripley County Community Foundation.
“The Ripley County Community Foundation is dedicated to working with local organizations to help them provide effective programs and services. The Day of Giving is a way to build up the endowment of your favorite charity ensuring that their work will continue in the future,” states Amy Streator, Executive Director of the Ripley County Community Foundation. Streator further states, “The Day of Giving is the best time to donate because gifts made during the event are eligible to receive a 50% match.”
Donations must be received on November 8 to be eligible for the match.
The match shall not exceed $5,000 per fund, and the total matching dollars available for this event are $50,000, which shall be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
The Community Foundation will also be collecting supplies for the Ripley County Humane Society during the Day of Giving. Everyone who brings in supplies for the Humane Society will be entered into a drawing for a $1,000 grant to the Ripley County Charity of the winner’s choice. For a list of supplies, be sure to visit the Community Foundation’s website at www.rccfonline.org.
