Prison Time For Child Porn Possession

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A judge has ordered a six year sentence for a Moores Hill man who pleaded guilty to having child pornography. Thomas Devoll, 26, was arrested last November on a count of Obstruction of Justice (level 6 felony), two counts of Child Exploitation (level 5 felony), and 25 counts of Possession of Child Pornography (level 6 felony). Devoll became a suspect when his then girlfriend allegedly found images on his phone and reported him to police. A search of his home turned up an SD card containing 25 images of children, but Devoll had discarded his phone which was never recovered. Devoll pleaded guilty to all 28 charges in Dearborn Circuit Court on July 7. Judge James D. Humphrey ordered two years of probation on the obstruction charge, two years behind bars on each exploitation charge to be served concurrently, and two years jailed for each child porn possession charge to be served concurrently. Do the math and Devoll will serve four years in prison with two years on probation. Humphrey gave Devoll credit for 476 days good time credit for time spent in jail following his arrest. The judge also required Devoll to register as a sex offender for 10 years after his release.
