(Boone County, Ky.) - Boone County Sheriff’s and Florence Police investigators have arrested a couple accused of abducting a man from a hotel on Valentine’s Day. A 22-year-old man visiting from Pomeroy, Ohio was kidnapped at gunpoint by a man and woman from the Quality Inn and Suites on Airport Exchange Boulevard on Sunday. Police say the victim had contacted Emma Haumesser, 20, to come to his hotel room for companionship through the website BackPage.com. Charles Burnett, Jr., 26, was close behind. “While there, Haumesser excused herself to take a phone call and walked out of the room. That’s when Burnett burst in the room displaying a handgun and ordered Casto to come with him,” police say. Haumesser and Burnett drove the victim to six different ATM machines ordering him to withdraw money at each. The sixth ATM machine kept the card so the two assaulted Casto and dropped him near the Red Roof Inn on Donaldson Road in Erlanger. The victim’s injuries were minor, investigators said.
