By Travis Thayer (Boone County, Ky.) – Boone County residents will likely be getting some new neighbors in the near future, and they will be coming in bunches. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that more than 8,000 new homes are being planned for construction in Boone County. According to the Boone County Planning Services GIS Active Subdivision List, there are 5,270 single-family homes and 3,699 multifamily homes to be built. Those homes are planned to be built in the following areas: Burlington, Pleasant Valley, Hebron and North Hebron, Florence and West Florence, Union, Richwood, and Walton-Verona. Current plans show that each area of Boone County will add anywhere from 100 to 1,500 new homes. The industrial area of Hebron is set to see the largest number of residential development with the addition of nearly 1,500 homes. The majority of the new homes will be built in the Thornwild and Northpoint neighborhoods. The area will also be home to a new public library. Like Hebron, the Union and Richwood area will also see over 1,000 new homes be built. Boone County’s largest active subdivision, Triple Crown will soon add 445 new homes, while Ballyshannon on Longbranch Road has 854 new homes on the way. Walton-Verona could see the addition of up to 539 homes. Cauthen Run, Asota Valley, North Walton Pointe and Wildcat Run are active subdivisions with potential to grow. Hunter’s Ridge in Burlington has already constructed a small portion of 700 planned houses, but a large-scale expansion has yet to begin. Burlington also awaits the completion of 145 homes in three different subdivision, including Griesser Farms. Florence, the most heavily developed area in Boone County will only gain about 250 multifamily residences. Development underway is the Villages of Florence on Hopeful Church Road.
