Ohio Man Sentenced For Home Burglary In Dearborn County

By Travis Thayer John Kidwell. Photo by Dearborn County Sheriff's Department. (Dearborn County, Ind.) - An Ohio man has been sentenced for his involvement in a residential burglary. In December of 2012, John Kidwell was one of three men accused of breaking into a residence on State Line Road in Bright in broad day light. Two of the suspects – Middletown, Ohio residents Shawn Kidwell and John Kidwell – both got away in a truck. However the third suspect, Ryan Taulbee was soon caught by police. Taulbee reached a negotiated plea agreement on July 2, 2013. As part of his sentence, Taulbee truthfully testified against the Kidwell in their court proceedings. John Kidwell, 31, was found guilty at trial by jury of Burglary (Class B felony), Conspiracy to Commit Burglary (Class B felony), and was found to be a habitual offender. Kidwell was sentenced on October 14 in Dearborn Circuit Court II to 20 years in prison. He will receive 688 good time days served. RELATED STORIES: 20 Year Sentence For Home Burglary
