Milan Elementary Announces Kindergarten/Preschool Registration Date

Registration is required for the event on April 1.

(Milan, Ind.) - Milan Elementary School is ready to get your child registered for kindergarten and preschool.

The registration event will take place on Thursday, April 1 at Milan Elementary School. Registration sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day in half-hour increments with the final session beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Parents and guardians are asked to call the school at 812-654-2922 to indicate which session you and your child will be attending. Masks are required.

It should be noted that children who will be entering the school should be present, but due to lack of space and time involved, the school asks that other children do not attend.

The registration process features a brief screening session for students entering kindergarten, which brings the total registration time for those students to about one hour. Registration for preschool students should only take about 30 minutes.

Parents and guardians are reminded to bring their child's birth certificate and immunization record to the registration event, in addition to the names and phone numbers of the child's doctor and dentist.

To be eligible for kindergarten, students must be five years old on or before August 1, 2021 and preschool students must be four years old by the same date.

All kindergarten classes will be full-day classes meeting Monday-Friday, following the Milan Community School Corporation annual calendar. Students will be eligible for all programs, including lunch and book assistance.

Preschool class size is limited and will be filed on a first come, first serve basis. First consideration will be given to those students who attend registration in person on April 1. Once the class is filled, additional students will be placed on a waiting list.

For more information, visit Milan Elementary School's website or call 812-654-2922.
