(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The City of Lawrenceburg and the Lawrenceburg Fire Department recently celebrated the retirement of longtime Fire Chief Johnnie Tremain.

Chief Tremain dedicated 39 years to serving the community as a member of the Lawrenceburg Fire Department. He first stepped into the firehouse at the age of four and followed in his father's footsteps to become a certified firefighter in 1986.

Over his nearly four-decade career, Tremain served in various roles, including becoming the first-ever, full-time Fire Chief for the City of Lawrenceburg.

Earlier this year, Tremain was named the Citizen of the Year at Lawrenceburg Fall Music Fest.

"Congratulations, Chief Tremain, and thank you for your loyal commitment, leadership, and service to our community. We are grateful for you and all you have accomplished for the City of Lawrenceburg," reads a statement from the City of Lawrenceburg.
