(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Monday, May 11 is a property tax payment deadline in Indiana. Most of Indiana’s county assessors mailed out 2014 payable 2015 property tax bills more than a month ago. Spring installments of property taxes are due to your county treasurer’s office by the close of business Monday. Tax bill payments that are mailed must be postmarked May 11. Typically, homeowners with a mortgage do not pay their tax bills directly, rather the bank does so using money escrowed from the borrower’s mortgage payment. The fall installment of property taxes will be due on November 10. Property tax payment options for Dearborn County property owners, according to Dearborn County Treasurer Phillip Weaver:
In person: Pay in person at the Treasurer’s Office Monday – Friday from 8:30 – 4:30 with extended hours on May 11 until 6:00 p.m.
By mail: Must be postmarked by May 11 to Dearborn Co. Treasurer, 215-B W. High St., Lawrenceburg, IN 47025. Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like your receipt returned.
Drop box: After office hours by using our drop-box inside the front doors of the County Administration Building by May 11. Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like your receipt returned. Please, do not leave cash.
Online: To pay by credit card by visiting the county website at www.dearborncounty.org. Go to the “Treasurer’s Page” under “Taxes” and on the left side of the page select “Property Tax Payment Options” under “Topics of Interest”.
In Ripley County, taxpayers can make their payment at the treasurer’s office at the courthouse annex building in Versailles, online, or by mail to Ripley County Treasurer, P.O. Box 176, Versailles, IN, 47042.
