(West Harrison, Ind.) – A local family business is on the way to a new start in a new location.

Hirlinger Chevrolet in West Harrison has been in business serving the tri-state since the 1930s. For the past 33 years, the dealership has been located on Harrison-Brookville Road near the state line.

On September 19, the business broke ground on a new facility further west on Harrison Brookville Road, near the Interstate 74 exit 169 and more visible to highway traffic.

“We’re excited about opening up a new facility where we can provide the area with exceptional customer service and continue to be recognized as the Tri-States Number 1 Chevrolet dealer for customer sales satisfaction as we have for the last 10 years running,” said Mike Hirlinger, the dealership’s vice president.

The new dealership will be situated on an eight acre tract, giving the business much more room than their current location. When construction is completed in the late summer of 2014, Hirlinger Chevrolet will be able to inventory over 200 vehicles, with plenty more room for its service and parts operations, said president Ted Hirlinger.

Steve Hirlinger, the car dealer’s treasurer, adds that customers will notice the difference immediately, including an inviting exterior façade with updated signage, a bright showroom featuring a customer greeting station, a comfortable customer lounge, and children’s amenities.

“We are so fortunate to able to serve the community in a more accommodating and updated facility” said Steve Hirlinger.
