Guns & Hoses Duke It Out For Charity March 1

By Katlyn Reece (Undated) - Southeastern Indiana's 911 Gives Hope announced the third "Guns and Hoses" charity boxing event will take place Saturday, March 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Belterra Casino Resort in Vevay. Participating in the event are policemen and firefighters from around the tri-state area including Colerain, Whitewater Township, Hebron Convington, Ghent, Aurora, Rising Sun, Greendale, Madison, Lawrenceburg, and East Enterprise.  This year for the first time the event will feature a bout between female boxers. Colerain Township firefighter Jessica Moening and June Brackett, a Gaming Agent for the State of Indiana. This event supports the Southeastern Indiana Children's Advocacy Center in Dillsboro. The CAC is a neutral, child-friendly place where law enforcement officers, child protection services, and prosecutor's offices from more than six counties can bring children for a forensic interview due to an allegation of abuse or neglect. No member of 911 Gives Hope receives compensation and all of the money raised will be given directly back to the community Also benefiting from the event is Angels for Isaac, a non-profit charity for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research, and the American Red Cross. The event is sponsored in part by Belterra Casino Resort, Switzerland County Council, United Community Bank, Friendship State Bank, Monarch Beverage Company, and Interim Health.
