Groundbreaking For New Rising Sun Veterinary Clinic Happens Friday

By Travis Thayer (Rising Sun, Ind.) – A groundbreaking for a new veterinary clinic has been scheduled for this week in Ohio County. The Ohio County Economic Development Corporation (OCEDC) has announced that a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Rising Sun Veterinary Clinic will take place on Friday, August 19. The ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Ohio County Business Park. "This is a great opportunity for Rising Sun and Ohio County. Our mission is to create jobs in the community and an important part of that is the expansion of local businesses," said OCEDC President Deedee Brown. "The great majority of new jobs comes through the expansion and retention of our current employers." Staab Construction, of Lawrenceburg has been contracted to build the new facility, with construction set to begin immediately. The OCEDC has been working with local Rising Sun Veterinarian Dr. David Walton Jr. DVM and his staff to allow the expansion of his practice to an all new facility in the community. The new clinic will provide space for large animal care, which is currently unavailable at the High Street clinic. "I am very happy about this new opportunity" said clinic owner Dr. David Walton Jr. DVM, "I enjoy being a part of the Rising Sun community and I hope that this new facility will help a lot of local animal owners." Dr. Walton Jr. will be joined at the new facility by Dr. Angela Hartwell DVM, who is a lifelong resident of Pleasant and Switzerland County. For nearly 60 years, the Rising Sun Veterinary Clinic’s goal has been to help pet owners and farm livestock owners to have healthy animals that live long lives. A formal ribbon cutting and grand opening of the new facility will be scheduled upon completion.
