Free Clinic Reveals Location In Aurora

By Travis Thayer (Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Volunteers in Medicine of Dearborn, Ohio and Switzerland Counties (VIMDOS) have a new location in Aurora. Last Wednesday, approximately 60 people from across southeastern Indiana, including Lawrenceburg Mayor Kelly Mollaun and Rising Sun Mayor Brent Bascom, attended the First Annual Community Reception at Ivy Tech Community College in Lawrenceburg. It was there that VIMDOS officials announced that they have chosen the Dearborn County Hospital medical office building in Aurora as the organization’s new location. The office is located at 107 Bridgeway Street, Suite 100. The selection was made based on affordability, availability and location. VIMDOS also considered a location option in Dillsboro. In addition, VIMDOS received a generous donation of $4,000 from Trinity Episcopal Church that will go toward clinic needs. The Volunteers in Medicine of Dearborn, Ohio & Switzerland Counties is a new non-profit organization dedicated to providing no-cost, quality medical care to under-served residents. According to the 2017 County Health Rankings Report, there are about 6,500 uninsured residents in those three counties. Dearborn County Hospital Chief of Staff Dr. Lynn Eiler will serve as the organization’s executive medical director. To volunteer or donate, visit vimdosclinic.org.
