(Versailles, Ind.) - If you and your family or friends are planning a campout at an Indiana state park campground this Labor Day weekend, you need to reserve that campground soon.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources said Tuesday that only a limited amount of campsites remain available for August 30 through September 2. Last-minute planners are urged to make reservations soon before campgrounds are booked completely.
Sites are available at Clifty Falls (non-electric) and Versailles state parks. Other available sites include Charlestown, Lincoln (non-electric and primitive), McCormick’s Creek, O’Bannon Woods, Lieber State Recreation Area, and Salamonie (primitive) and Deam lakes.
A minimum three-night stay is required. Reservations can be made at camp.IN.gov or 1-866-6CAMPIN.
Reservations are not needed for other park activities like hiking, swimming pools, or family gatherings.
The IDNR urges folks planning a fall camping trip to reserve a spot now.
“October has become like the busy month of July for our parks and reservoirs,” said Christie Wilmoth of the DNR Division of State Parks & Reservoirs. “With so much to see and do at our Halloween and fall festival weekends, you won’t want to miss out on all of the activities we have planned.”
