Dearborn Co. Tourism Launches Shop Southeast Indiana Publication

Press release by Dearborn County Convention, Visitor & Tourism Bureau (Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Fall is here, and along with it the launch of a new shopping trail designed to showcase the best of Dearborn County’s distinctive shops, boutiques, and seasonal markets.  Known as Shop Southeast Indiana, the free publication offers shoppers a guide to great vintage and handmade goods found throughout the region, plus special discounts and deals redeemable at Shop Southeast Indiana merchants. The idea came about after staff at the Dearborn County Visitors Center noticed visitors interested in visiting local shops and markets.  In addition to unique and handcrafted merchandise such as home décor, clothing, jewelry and accessories, shoppers will also find arts and craft supplies, yarn, textiles, fabric and more. “So many people who stop by, whether they’re visitors or area residents, want to shop local,” said Debbie Smith, Executive Director of the Dearborn County Convention, Visitor & Tourism Bureau, which is coordinating the promotion.  “This is a fun way to showcase all of the great shopping opportunities our community offers, from small out-of-the-way boutiques to our annual markets taking place throughout the year.” Featuring shop listings and categories organized by location, the four-color Shop Southeast Indiana brochure also offers a coupon page of special discounts valid at participating stores and markets.  Shop hours, locations and an area map likewise help shoppers find their way along the route. Southeast Indiana’s popular market events are also included.  These range from the seasonal Tri-State Antique Market, which is held May through October at the Lawrenceburg Fairgrounds, to the Over the Moon Vintage Market (spring and fall), to the Junkin’ Trail Extravaganza (October and March).
