DCH Foundation Announces Scholarship Winners

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Dearborn County Hospital Foundation announced that 14 area high school seniors will receive $500 scholarships through the Foundation’s High School Senior Scholarship Program. Members of the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation Board of Directors recognized the scholarship recipients at their respective high school awards programs.   

Scholarship recipients are selected annually from applicants who have been accepted into degree programs in healthcare fields at accredited colleges and universities. Additional students will be awarded grant/loans later in the summer as part of the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation and Dearborn County Hospital Healthcare Student Grant/Loan Program. Both high school scholarship and healthcare student grant/loan recipients are honored each year in July at a banquet hosted by the Foundation at the Dearborn Country Club.

Students from the class of 2012 receiving DCH Foundation High School Senior Scholarships are:

Maggie Adams of Batesville, a graduate of Batesville High School who is enrolled in the associate degree nursing program at Good Samaritan College of Nursing & Health Science.

Rachel Campbell of Rising Sun, a homeschooled student who will study pre-pharmacy at Pensacola Christian College.

Samantha Flodder of Oldenburg, a Batesville High School graduate who will attend the University of Indianapolis for her bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Kelli Foglesong of Aurora, a graduate of South Dearborn High School who will be working toward a bachelor’s degree in nursing at the College of Mount St. Joseph.

Kelsey Fuchs of Brookville, who graduated from Franklin County High School, will pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ball State University.

Meredith Goodall of Aurora, an Oldenburg Academy graduate who is seeking a bachelor’s degree in human biology at Indiana University.

Tessa Larimer of Guilford, an Oldenburg Academy graduate who has enrolled in the exercise science/pre-physical therapy program at Bellarmine University.

Tatijana Marsee of Milan, a graduate of Milan High School who will work toward a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and audiology at Ball State University.

Alicia Reece of Brookville, a Franklin County High School graduate seeking a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Ball State University.

Rachel Settle of Aurora, a South Dearborn High School graduate who plans to obtain an associate degree in physical therapy assisting at the University of Cincinnati Clermont College.

Sarah Turpin of Lawrenceburg, a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School who is enrolled in the sports management/physical therapy program at the College of Mount St. Joseph.

Evan VanStrien of Lawrenceburg, a Lawrenceburg High School graduate who will be working toward a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Thomas More College.

Rachel Vonderheide of Brookville, a member of the East Central High School class of 2012 who will enter the pre-pharmacy program at the University of Cincinnati.

Ashley Works of Bennington, a Switzerland County High School graduate who is enrolled in the nursing program at Ivy Tech Community College.
