It’s a lot of water and money going down the drain or some other crack. The Brookville American-Democrat reports that the Brookville Water Department told Brookville Town Council members recently that the Heap Memorial Pool as losing about 35,000 gallons of water per day. The pool holds a total of 232,000 gallons, but has needed to be filled multiple times this summer. It took more than 1 million gallons of water to keep the more than 50-year-old pool filled in July. The pool’s last day open to the public was Sunday, August 9. The water department expects to have leak and pressure testing on the pool’s system performed this week. Depending on the issue causing the leak, repairs could range from $200,000 to $1,000, a water department employee said.
