(Boone County, Ky.) - It’s back to school Wednesday in Boone County.
Students will no longer sleep in on weekdays. Mom and Dad will be waking them up in time to prepare for the day and catch the school bus.
Students at several Boone County schools will notice some new faces in the principal’s office. New principals include Lisa Resing at Florence Elementary, Michael Shires at North Pointe Elementary, and Michael Poiry at Ockerman Elementary.
New assistant principals this year include Eric Ball at Collins Elementary, David Jones at Florence Elementary, Renee Turner at Yealey Elementary, and Elaine Stappenbeck at Ryle High School.
Erlanger-Elsmere Independent Schools and Kenton County Schools will also welcome students back to class on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, citizens interested in serving on the Boone County Board of Education have an opportunity. District 2 board member Steve Kinman resigned from his seat in June.
The Kentucky Commission on Education is seeking applicants to be considered for appointment to the school board. Applications must be submitted by August 27. More information is available at http://www.boone.k12.ky.us/districtNewsArticle.aspx?artID=99#sthash.xkXCgLVv.XFGXjTyq.dpbs.
