By Mike Perleberg Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. (Batesville, Ind.) - Batesville High School’s football team will get to play on Indiana’s biggest stage. The Bulldogs will take part in the Hometown Heroes Bowl at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the NFL Indianapolis Colts, on Saturday, October 1. Batesville (4-1) will take on EIAC rival Greensburg (3-2) in that game starting at 7:30 that night. It will be the last in a series of three games at the showcase event. The other two contests feature Hamilton Heights and Twin Lakes at noon, followed by Kokomo versus Logansport at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the Batesville High School athletics office from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. during school days through Thursday, September 29. Tickets are also available at the football game against Lawrenceburg on Friday, September 23. Another opportunity to purchase tickets will be Monday, September 26 from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. inside the arts and athletics entrance at the high school. Tickets cost $11 for adults and students, children age 12 and under $8, youth football players $5, and children age 2 and younger will be admitted free. Batesville High School and Batesville Middle School All-Sports Pass holders will receive a $5 discount on their ticket if purchased ahead of game day. All-sports passes must be in-hand when purchasing tickets. All-sports passes will not be accepted at Lucas Oil Stadium, and tickets will not be discounted the day of the game. The Pirates versus Bulldogs game had been scheduled as a Batesville home game on Friday, September 30. Batesville has played at Lucas Oil Stadium before. The Bulldogs met East Central on the field there as part of Big Rivals Night on September 16, 2011. East Central won 35-14.
