Photo courtesy Madison Courier/Melissa Trader (Rising Sun, Ind.) - A man believed of driving with a blood-alcohol level almost twice the legal limit flipped his truck into the side of a barn Sunday night, the Madison Courier reports. Tyler Wayne Scudder, 24, of Rising Sun was traveling north on Scotts Ridge Road when the accelerator on the truck became stuck while coming around a turn. The truck was turned on the passenger's side when first responders arrived. According to a probable cause affidavit, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies say they detected an odor of alcohol coming from Scudder. Scudder later admitted to having three beers in the span of three or four hours. The affidavit also stated that Scudder failed three sobriety tests, and had a blood-alcohol content of .15 Scudder who had cuts on his head, refused medical treatment following the accident. Taylor Scudder and Lucas A. Jackson were also in the truck at the time of the accident. Taylor Scudder was transported to King’s Daughters’ Health because of a fractured foot, and Lucas A. Jackson was transported for abdominal pain. Tyler Scudder faces three misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
