The Kiwanis Club of Lawrenceburg awarded the $1,000 scholarship on July 1.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Kiwanis Club of Lawrenceburg, Indiana is proud to announce Lawrenceburg High School graduate Luk Addington as the winner of the club’s 2025 Pat O’Neill Memorial Scholarship.
The $1,000 scholarship was awarded to Addington on Tuesday, July 1. The club members selected Addington based on his scholarship application essay, character, leadership, and academic standing.
Pat O’Neill dedicated his life teaching, counseling, and coaching students at Lawrenceburg High School. Pat and his wife Ann had no children, but he touched the hearts and minds of countless students and athletes. The Pat O’Neill Memorial Scholarship presented by the Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club is the club’s way of honoring Pat and carrying on his goal of helping others.
Addington plans on attending the University of Cincinnati to study electrical and civil engineering. Prior to graduating Lawrenceburg High School this past spring, Luk maintained excellent grades while becoming an Eagle Scout and remaining active in 4-H Summer Camp, High Hope Café, Big Brothers Big Sisters, CASA, football, and wrestling.
“Pat O’Neill was an influential figure in the lives of many Lawrenceburg High School alumni, some of whom are our club members who continue to give back to their community to this day. Luk demonstrated a track record of great academic performance and community service in earning this scholarship. Our club members thank all students who applied for the scholarship this year,” said Kiwanis Club President Mike Perleberg.
Lawrenceburg High School students in the Class of 2026 are encouraged to apply for the scholarship to be awarded in Spring 2026 by asking for a copy of the application in the high school guidance office.
The Kiwanis Club of Lawrenceburg holds a lunch meeting each Tuesday, 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Zion Church, 340 Walnut Street, Lawrenceburg. The club is always welcoming new members, including businesses which can participate as corporate members giving their employees an avenue to give back to the community.
