UPDATE: I-71 Near Ky. Speedway Reopens After Fatal Crash

By Mike Perleberg Update published at 12:56 p.m.: The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports that all lanes have reopened following the deadly crash on I-71 southbound at the 70 mile marker near the Kentucky Speedway exit. The left lane remains closed at the 68 mile marker. Further details on the fatal accident have not been released.   Original story published at 11:58 a.m.: (Gallatin County, Ky.) - A person is dead after a crash this morning in Gallatin County. The single car accident happened on Interstate 71 near the Kentucky Speedway exit in Sparta. At least one person was killed. It’s unclear right now if there were any other injuries. Southbound lanes of the highway have been closed while police investigate. The I-71 closure could impact anybody heading down to Sparta early for Thursday night's NASCAR truck series race at the Kentucky Speedway.
