Walhill Farm has announced the closure of its restaurant, which has been recognized in the past for its superb farm-to-fork menu. The owners said in a statement that it was an extremely difficult, but necessary decision to close the restaurant. “It was not made without a good deal of anguish and thought. But in the end the continued issues with running a farm to fork restaurant in the Indiana country side just became too much for our team,” the statement read. The restaurant was recognized with Cincy Magazine’s Silver Spoon Award for the best farm-to-table restaurant in the tri-state in 2014. It was also ranked among the region’s top restaurants. Despite the restaurant closure, Walhill Farm will continue to host special, reservation-only dinners. It will also carry on with catering and hosting private events such as weddings and corporate gatherings. The business will also continue selling assorted meats and other farm products. The Inn at Walhill Farm will also remain available for overnight stays. “We sincerely thank you for your support and enthusiasm for Walhill as we change into something bigger and better. Please feel free to call us at 812 934 2600 if you would like to discuss any opportunities for our events management business. We will be announcing our special, reservations only, dinner opportunities in the coming weeks, so please continue to keep up with these emails. Please continue to let us know how we can continue to serve you and your hospitality needs,” the announcement concluded. The 250-acre farm recently hosted its Bacon, Blues and Brew Music and Arts Festival in July.
