(Ripley County, Ind.) - Firefighters responded to two structure fires on Thursday in Ripley County.

The first fire broke out around 6:46 a.m. in the 2200 block of State Road 101. Milan Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene around 7:00 to find a barn fully engulfed in fire.

Crews battled a heavy fire load due to the loft of the barn being used for hay storage and multiple pieces of large equipment also inside. Mutual aid departments assisting were Delaware, Dillsboro, Moores Hill, and Sunman.

No injuries were reported.

Versailles firefighters then responded to a structure fire on County Road 25 South, outside of Versailles early Thursday evening. They too found a small barn fully involved with fire and spreading to the residence.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire quickly and saved the residence.

Osgood and Napoleon firefighters assisted at the scene.

No injuries were reported.
