Local Sports Report - January 7

East Central's boys and girls basketball team got a split on Tuesday night and the Ripley County Tournament got underway.

LaSalle (Oh.) 84, East Central 37 - The Trojans were led by Luke Collinsworth with 14 points. A.J. Messmore added nine points for East Central. 



East Central 53, Dixie Heights (Ky.) 35 - The Lady Trojans came out strong with a 17-5 first quarter. They finished strong scoring 22 points in the fourth quarter. Freshman star Josie Trabel led all scorers with 24 points. Hope Fox added 12 points and Kyla Maxwell had nine points. 


Ripley County Tournament 

Batesville 41, South Ripley 29

Jac-Cen-Del 71, Milan 37 

* Milan and South Ripley will play in the consolation game on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The championship game between Batesville and Jac-Cen-Del will follow at approximately 7:30.
