It was a big weekend for East Central as their girls basketball team won the sectional, their wrestling team won the regional and a couple star swimmers are heading to state!

Class 4A Sectional at Bloomington South - Semifinals

East Central 49, Bloomington South 37

Class 3A Sectional at South Dearborn - Semifinals

Lawrenceburg 35, Batesville 32 - Chloe Meyer led the way for the Lady Tigers with 11 points. Tristyn Dennis added eight points.

Class 2A Sectional at Switzerland County - Semifinals

South Ripley 36, Switzerland County 29

North Decatur 60, South Decatur 35


Class 1A Sectional at Waldron - Semifinals

Class 4A Sectional at Bloomington South - Championship

East Central 49, Columbus East 39 - The Lady Trojans move on to the Columbus North Regional. They will take on Franklin Central (15-11) on Saturday, February 15 in the first round of regional play. The winner will play Bedford North Lawrence or Evansville North for a chance to go to semi-state. 


Class 3A Sectional at South Dearborn - Championship

Greensburg 41, Lawrenceburg 29 - Lawrenceburg ends the season with a 21-4 record. Greensburg moves on to the Charlestown Regional where they will take on Evansville Memorial. 


Class 2A Sectional at Switzerland County - Championship

North Decatur 35, South Ripley 29 - North Decatur advances to the Paoli Regional to take on Eastern (Pekin). South Ripley ends the season with a 10-15 record. 


Class 1A Sectional at Waldron - Championship

Jac-Cen-Del 40, Waldron 36 - Anna Hubbard led the way with 12 points and Paige Ledford chipped in with nine points for JCD. The Lady Eagles will take on Greenwood Christian (21-5) on Saturday, February 15 in the first round of regional play at Southwestern (Shelbyville). 



Lawrenceburg 48, Switzerland County 41 - Eagle Country 99.3 Feature Game - Lawrenceburg led the whole way being powered by the Yoon brothers. Gavin Yoon had 15 points, while Garrett Yoon pitched in with 14 points. Dahya Patel added eight points for the Tigers. Damien Breeck led Switzerland County with 15 points. 

Columbus North 77, East Central 54 - Logan Rohrbacher had 13 points and A.J. Messmore added 10 points for the Trojans.

Oldenburg Academy 53, Triton Central 27

Southwestern (Shelbyville) 43, Rising Sun 39

IHSAA Regional at Richmond

East Central dominated the field, taking home their first team Regional Championship since 2006. The Trojans scored a total of 193 points. Centerville was the next best team with 77 points. Lawrenceburg finished 4th with 57 points, Milan was 5th with 55 points and South Dearborn finished 8th with 42 points. East Central advances on to the semi-state on Saturday, February 15 at New Castle. Individual Regional Champs are listed below.

126 - Eli Otto (35-3) - South Dearborn 

145 - Ben Wolf (41-3) - East Central 

152 - Bryer Hall (37-0) - East Central
