Traffic continues to be tied up by a series of accidents on Interstate 74 near the 168 mile marker in West Harrison. Motorists report that the backup on I-74 westbound stretches from the crash scene to the Indiana-Ohio state line. Eastbound traffic has been buttoned down to one lane at the scene, but is continuing to move.

Southbound I-275 at Kilby Road has reopened following an earlier accident involving two vehicles and minor injuries, according to Hamilton County 911.

Update posted at 8:11 a.m.:

According to Indiana State Police, Interstate 74 westbound is shut down at Exit 169 (Harrison/Brookville Exit) due to several weather related crashes west of that exit. Motorists are being directed off I-74 westbound to S.R. 46 then west on S.R. 46 to S.R. 1. Motorists can re-enter I-74 westbound from S.R. 1 at St. Leon. Roads remain ice covered in some areas including black ice. Motorists are urged to use caution. The estimated time I-74 will be opened is unknown at this time.

Many commuters are stuck in the backup caused by the closure of the Interstate 275 Carroll Cropper Bridge. Motorists report the line to get onto the interstate reaches all the way to the McDonald's restaurant on U.S. 50 in Greendale.

Interstate 75 is experiencing long delays between I-275 and the Richwood exit in northern Kentucky.

Interstate 275 near Kilby Road in Whitewater Township has been a problem area most of the morning, too. The interstate is currently closed due to multiple accidents, some of which include injuries.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A few snow flurries and some sleet overnight have caused problems for the local commute Wednesday morning.

Motorists report slick roads from Manchester to Batesville. Interstate 74 and Interstate 275 are seeing the largest snow-related issues.

There was a jack-knifed tractor trailer on I-74 westbound near the Ohio 128/Miamitown exit around 5:15 a.m. The accident was cleared by 6:10.

Several motorists reported very icy conditions on I-275 near the Kilby Road exit in Whitewater Township. There were a handful of slide-offs and those managing to stay on the highway were travelling about 40 MPH, one driver said.

In Lawrenceburg, snow began coming down at a heavier clip at about 6:00 a.m. According to the National Weather Service, a quick half inch of snow may fall during the morning commute. The snow could result in slick spots on untreated roads and especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.

Wednesday’s high temperature is expected to reach about 35 degrees.
