U.S. 101 Tree Clearing Work To Begin Next Week

The project is expected to be complete by September 30, weather permitting. 

(Ripley Co., Ind.) - A tree clearing project will begin next week at the S.R. 101 bridge over South Hogan Creek to preface a bridge deck replacement project.

The bridge is located a little over two miles north of U.S. 50 in Ripley County.

Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures while work is in progress. Utility relocation work will follow the tree clearing.

One the tree clearing project is completed, bridge deck replacement is scheduled to begin in March or early April. The bridge deck replacement will require the closure of S.R. 101 for about 90 days. 

The official detour during the closure will be U.S. 50 to S.R. 129 to S.R. 350. Flaggers will be present on site for traffic control.

Motorists should slow down and use extra caution.
