National Weather Service Issues Flood Warning

Some local roads have been closed due to high water.

(Dearborn Co., Ind.) - The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the tri-state area. 

This warning will stay in effect until Monday, February 17 at 4:36 PM. 

As of Thursday morning, the Ohio River was recorded at 49.8 feet. The river is expected to rise to around 53.3 feet by Saturday morning, which would be above flood stage. 

Minor flooding is expected. The river should fall back below flood stage by late Monday morning. 

At stages near 54.0 feet, backwater flooding spreads up the lower Little Miami River as far upstream as Newtown. 

Flooding near Petersburg, Kentucky along Belleview Road near the Woolper Creek Bridge occurs, as well as near State Route 56 and Water Street near Aurora, Indiana.

High water is also affecting local roads. The following closures are in place:

- East Laughery Road at Shiloh Lane

- East Laughery at Gregory Road

- Cross Road at the intersection of Goose Run and Park Avenue
