Cute! Dearborn County Fair Baby Contest Winners

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - On the first day of summer 2017, Graeson Briceno was selected as Prince and Maddilyn Gallagher was chosen Princess in the Dearborn County Fair Baby Contest.  A total of 80 babies, including three sets of twins and a record-setting 19 registrants in the category of girls aged 7 to 12 months, entered the annual contest. Prince Graeson and Princess Maddilyn each received a trophy; a crocheted afghan for supervised “tummy time”, provided by the Dearborn County RSVP; and a $150 savings account at the Dearborn County Hospital Federal Credit Union, courtesy of the DCH Birthing Center. Graeson, 16 months, is the son of Anthony “Tony” and Sarah Briceno of Lawrenceburg.  Maddilyn, 13 months, is the granddaughter of Timothy and Janice Canfield of Moores Hill. First through fourth place winners were selected in each of the six age and gender categories and received cash prizes and ribbons thanks to DCH.  Categories were: first place, $25; second place, $20; third place, $15; and fourth place, $10.  Cash door prizes were also awarded by the Dearborn County Hospital Physician Partners’ offices of the Center for Women & Children and the Women’s Center. DCH’s Birthing Center features seven private LDRPN (labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, nursery) suites.  Attractively decorated antepartum and postpartum rooms are also available as is a special OB triage room designed for mothers who come to the unit for short term observation, premature labor or other special needs.  The Birthing Center also offers the expertise of two International Board Certified Lactation Consultants.  In addition, breastfeeding classes and childbirth classes are scheduled throughout the year.
