Batesville Tool & Die Founder Ronald Fledderman Dies

Fledderman founded Batesville Tool & Die in 1978. Fledderman died on Tuesday, October 17 at his home in Batesville. He was 78. Visitation for friends and family will be held Friday, October 20 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. Funeral services will take place Saturday morning at St. Louis Catholic Church. Fledderman’s precision metal stamping business started with three employees, but has more than 900 today in Batesville, South Carolina, and Mexico. According to his obituary, he retired from day-to-day operations at Batesville Tool & Die in 1987, but remained chairman of the board until 2003. Fledderman will also be remembered for his giving and community support. He was formerly the board president for New Horizons Rehabilitation, a director of First Bank & Trust, and a director of Fifth Third Bank of Southeastern Indiana. He is survived by his wife Jackie and daughters Ronda Green and Rachelle Mathews. Sons Jody, Jay and Joel Fledderman are each involved with the company, with Jody serving as CEO. Ronald is also survived by two sisters, twelve grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Margaret Mary Health Foundation Hospice or New Horizons Rehabilitation.
