ATV Wreck At Off-Road Park Puts Two In Hospital

By Mike Perleberg (Franklin County, Ind.) - Two Ohio residents were hurt in an ATV crash at Haspin Acres in Franklin County on Saturday. The wreck happened about 5:00 a.m. on a trail at the off-road park when two four-wheelers collided. Anthony Lay, 19, suffered a head injury and was taken to Rush Memorial Hospital. He was later transferred to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment. Chelsea Ray-Lane, 20, was a passenger on Lay’s ATV. She was treated and released at Rush Memorial Hospital. Both Lay and Ray-Lane were taken to the hospital by friends. The operator of the second ATV, Cody Maryland, 19, also from Ohio, escaped with only some minor lacerations. Indiana Conservation Officers say alcohol is a suspected factor in the accident and a toxicology report is pending. No helmets or safety equipment were used by anybody involved.
