(Undated)  --  Country music newcomer Riley Green is reaching out to fans after he dropped the ball on a tweet during the Super Bowl halftime show.

The "I Wish Grandpas Never Died" singer tweeted "Great game... but can I get somebody to translate this Super Bowl halftime show so I know what they are singing about??"

It featured superstars Shakira and Jennifer Lopez performing a series of international hits.

The tweet caused some fans to lash out and Green and call him "racist."

The singer turned to Twitter yesterday, saying "I'm a country songwriter, and I listen for the story... I said and meant nothing negative about anyone."
