Enjoy a Saturday Matinee at the library. These popular movie titles were books first! May is News of the World (written by Paulette Jiles). War veteran Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd embarks on a new mission five years after the conclusion of the Civil War: he goes from town to town to share news about presidents, queens, catastrophes, feuds, and other interesting affairs from all around the world. In one of his stops, he meets Johanna, a 10-year-old girl who has been living with the Kiowa people for the last six years. When she is ordered to return to her biological aunt and uncle, Kidd decides to accompany her. 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, North Dearborn Branch Library. No registration needed. Adults. Free.

Hillforest House MuseumOverlooking the Ohio River in Aurora, the beautiful Hillforest Victorian House Museum was built in 1855 for industrialist Thomas Graff. Its unique shape is said to be inspired by steamboats of the 19th century. The site has been operating as a historic house museum since 1956 and is one of 11 National Historic Landmarks in southern Indiana. Hillforest opens for tours today and hosts many special events throughout the season. D&D at the LibraryCalling all adventurers! Join us to play 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons. We offer a friendly, low-pressure environment for beginning players and veterans alike. Tell a story of sword and sorcery with your fellow players. We provide snacks and character sheets. Bring your own dice or borrow ours.
