Ralph Guinn Smith, 78, of Madison, IN, formerly of Switzerland County, passed away at 8:23 PM, Friday, October 30th, while in the company of family members, at his residence.
He was the husband of Laverne (Browning) Smith who survives him. Ralph and Laverne were married on May 23, 1986.
Ralph was born in Somerset, KY on June 24, 1931, a son of the late Madge (Guinn) and Ralph Smith.
He served in the U.S. Marines in the Korean War and received the Purple Heart. He was employed as a Factory Worker at Powell Valve in Cincinnati, OH.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother Robert Smith of Ohio and by his Caregiver of 4 years, Kilena Carol Chadwell of Deputy, IN. Ralph is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Smith and by 4 sisters; Mae Roberts, Shirley Snapp, Mary Frances Cundiff & Emogene Phelps.
Funeral Service at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 5th, with Br. Don Campbell officiating.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday 5-8 PM. at Markland Funeral Home.
Interment at Rising Sun New Cemetery in Rising Sun, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Family.
