(Rising Sun, IN) - The Rising Sun Police Department is investigating after a restaurant in town was broken into overnight.
According to Chief David Hewitt, at approximately 1:30 a.m. someone had broken the glass from the from door of the Rising Sun Subway on Fifth Street. The crook then entered the restaurant and took roughly $180 in cash from the register.
The suspect is described as a male, 5'10", and last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie.
Hewitt says this is just the latest in a rash of break-ins that have occurred over the past few weeks in the area.
Though the Subway is usually open for breakfast, a manager at the restaurant said Thursday morning that they were forced to remain closed until about 11:00 a.m.
The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rising Sun Police Department at (812) 438-3737.
